Work-Site Treatment with new MEDGroup Service
MEDGroup, the leading provider of occupational health care in Northeast Ohio is, once again, expanding its product line to serve you better. Beginning January 1, 2004, MEDGroup will be offering O-Med Treat and Transport. O-Med, managed by a local ambulance service, Stark/Summit Ambulance, provides work-site treatment and triage of work-related injuries.
The O-Med service includes:
- Immediate medical response 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;
- Treatment and release of injured worker;
- Treatment of work injury and transport to MEDGroup, if necessary;
- On-site substance abuse screening, including breath alcohol; and
- Next day follow-up by MEDGroup who will manage the work injury.
Utilization of this unique service ultimately translates into an increased cost savings for area employers through decreased employee and supervisor time away from the job, injury management, reduced workers' compensation costs, and improved delivery of health care for the injured employee. This service also insures that substance abuse testing occurs according to your company's policy and that your injured employee is expeditiously returned to work.
At the present time, O-Med is only available to those employers in our Southern Region (including Summit, Portage, Medina and Stark counties, with some limitations that may apply). In the future, we hope to be able to offer this service to our Cuyahoga County employers as well.
