What are the advantages of using MEDGroup versus a hospital emergency room?
MEDGroup is a perfect alternative to an emergency room for medical problems that are not life threatening but need immediate attention. Unlike most emergency room visits, an urgent care center insures professional and personal care can be administered quickly, even without an appointment.
Additionally, MEDGroup centers are conveniently located in the communities that they serve, offering a cost-effective alternative when urgent medical care is needed.

Do I need a referral to see a MEDGroup physician?
In most instances, you will not need a referral to see a MEDGroup physician. Depending on your health insurance coverage, you may need a referral from your Primary Care Physician (PCP) prior to being seen by a MEDGroup physician. It is important that, if a referral is required, you obtain it from your PCP prior to receiving treatment at MEDGroup.
Please contact your insurance company to find out if you need a referral. If a referral is required, your PCP will then need to be notified so they can provide the appropriate paperwork to your insurance company.
